The 52 project: week 5

And I couldn’t be more grateful for this project hosted by Che & Fidel. Every week it gives me the opportunity to give my little Miss a closer look, to make notes of all the funny things she does, all the little steps she takes into toddlerhood, all the changes she goes through and all her emotions. It gives me the chance to collect an invaluable set of pictures documenting an entire year in my child’s life and also the chance to improve my portrait skills (which are lacking at the moment, but i’ve got my camera up and running now!).
This is her this week at lunch time.

 The learning face

 The watching face
The challenging face

This week you:

Let me cut your nails (sort of!) while you were awake.

Started to throw tantrums at meal times (sure we were going to prepare ourselves for the terrible twos, but definitely are not ready for the terrible 14 months!!).

Learned how to do the chicken by putting your hands under your armpits (hilarious!)

Shared your first pizza Capricciosa with your two girlfriends and loved it.

The 52 project: week 4

And I’m still very grateful for this project.
Although I only get to spend evening and weekends with little Miss O, although I’m taking crappy pictures with my phone, although she keeps moving every time I try to take a pic….I love snapping those moments when we are together, having fun and being happy.

Your first trip to IKEA
(and yes you are not really allowed to have chips!)

Evening play

In the supermarket trolley
This week you:
Sighed (and laughed afterwards) every time you drank a cup of water (even during the night).
Refused to get your hair dried.
Had your first molar cutting through (or so we thought! We discovered you had the top two out already :)).
Had your immunisation shots and you did brilliantly us not so much!).
You had a lot of fun with your mama at the pool on sat morning.
Note: My goal in following weeks will be to improve my picture taking, this week has been not so great. I’m currently using my Iphone as my camera needs new batteries, they have been ordered, so fingers crossed they will arrive soon.

The 52 project: week 3

I’m jumping in late into this project, but I’m just happy I decided to take the challenge. It came at the right time. Just last week I was stressing myself out thinking how a year had gone by since Olivia was born and all the memory keeping I was planning to do resolved in a massive archive of bad-ish photos without any comments or thoughts. Right after sharing my concerns with my not-so-bordered other half, I discovered the 52 weeks project. It was through one of my old, if not one of the first, favourite bloggers bluebirdbaby. I liked the idea, I liked what I saw, I like what it could come out of it. So here it goes.

Bath time – our favourite time of the day

Dinner time – Having fun with your hair
This week:
You slept in your bed until the morning for 2 nights in a row.
You played hide and seek with your plate and had food stuck in your hair.
You learned to stay up late.
You laughed at your papa doing the moonwalking.

Christmas Holidays wrap up

It was awesome! We spent the holidays in Italy visiting our families. We were up on the mountains until Boxing Day and down to the beach until the Epiphany. We had snow, Miss O met her first cousin, we exchanged presents, we had cappuccino and cornetto for breakfast (almost everyday!), we walked on the beach, we went skateboarding, we enjoyed the sunshine and the warm weather, we loved have family around, we had our first sleep through the night (pure bliss!), we had lots of good food, we went to the local market, we had ice cream. WE.HAD.A.REALLY.GOOD.TIME.

Us in pictures

We didn’t have any picture of us in our house until 10 months ago. We never had, even in our previous flats, even when we weren’t living together. It’s one of those things with no reason at all. It was just us as we were. Us as we were before Olivia was born. And then things started to change, in many ways. One of the things that happened is that we started to print out photos, get canvases printed out for us and all of them went on our walls. There is a narrow corridor in our house, outside the kitchen. We hanged all of our pictures there and O loves looking at them. She smiles at her own pics and tries to grab the other ones.
And I just put some more up this morning! I printed out these new pics (the ones in the white frames) for G, before he went to SF back in June. Hidden some in his wallet and some in his luggage so he wouldn’t miss us too much. And now are on display, to fill our little narrow corridor with more of our memories!
